I wasn’t actually planning to. When I went to bed last night, the weather sites all called for rain. But when I woke up this morning, it was beautiful outside, and at least according to the weather channel, the rain should hold off long enough for me to get home dry tonight, but that remains to be seen. The route that Google maps produced is actually pretty pleasant. I ride on 6 until I cross the river, then I cut slightly south on main and pick up Bogart road for the rest of the west-bound leg. It runs into Rye Beach which is the road school is on. In any case, it turned out to be about a twenty minute ride, covering a little under four miles (3.7 to be exact). Here’s the Strava report.

The only downside to this, I’ve realized, is that today is Friday, which means the ride home may be a little bit more exciting. Here’s hoping for another pleasant trip, and a faster acclimation to sitting in the saddle, my sit bones are sore. >.<

I rode from the apartment to Nickel Plate Beach. Its just down the road a little way (0.9 miles according to Strava) so it was a short ride, but I think it was sufficient for me to get a feel for my new bike.

I had a great time, so if the weather cooperates, I may ride to work tomorrow and/or check out the Huron River Greenway at DuPont Marsh.

Also, I recently rescued and adopted a 70s console stereo. The tuner works well, the speakers sound great, and I’m working on the turn table (it spins now )
